Backus Hospital
Backus Hospital’s equipment was not sufficient for their needs. Their 5000 gal oil tank was used for both heating and running the generator. There was an issue with sulphur in the oil that was not compatible with the generator. For the generator to run optimally it required diesel. The heat exchanger and oil burner were also cracked. We removed the oil tank and installed a modular building to house two new Patterson-Kelly gas fired condensing boilers. We added hot water heating coils to replace the heat exchanger and two Armstrong pumps. We also installed a 1000 gal steel tank of diesel for the generator with monitoring controls that tied into the existing tank control panel.
